Age 76 - last period at 51 - first symptoms at 46

I was lucky not to get terrible hot flushes but I have had generally higher body temperature since menopause. Slept naked and spread eagle! Would always wake up at 4am and be wide awake which was the most annoying thing for me. I took Kliovance for 5 years and felt well on that. Tried to stop after 2 years but took it again until the 5 year mark by which time I did not need it any more. I also struggled with weight gain and hair thinning. My husband gave up on sex before I did so I don’t know how that would have been. My inherited arthritis got worse after menopause but glucosamine sulphate helped with pain and joint stability.My female GP was helpful and prepared to prescribe HRT which was controversial at the time.
