Age 44 - last period at 40 - first symptoms at 40

After being diagnosed with hormone positive breast cancer, I needed to go into forced menopause through medication, to reduce the amount of hormones in my body. Chemotherapy was difficult, but the menopause symptoms were just as bad. Suddenly having hot flashes, difficulty sleeping, incontinence issues, as well as concurrent chemo and menopause brain fog. Thankfully after some time and a referral to a sexual health oncologist, I got some medication that improved my life significantly. What I think I would have appreciated at the time was to not have to think I was just stuck with the adverse symptoms of menopause. It was also important to me for the menopause symptoms to be focused on and treated, not just my cancer.
