Age 53 - Last period at 26 - First symptoms at 51

I had a modified radical hysterectomy at age 26, I was able to keep my ovaries. I was told I would go through menopause early. I always imagined that when this happened I would get some hormone therapy and get on with life. I wasn't expecting such a wide range of symptoms, some quite debilitating. I have experienced increased anxiety and depression, lots of debilitating aches and pains over my whole body, sleep problems and total loss of any sexual desire.

These symptoms left me feeling totally insane and like I had the mobility and stamina of an 80 year old. 

I have just recently been prescribed some estrogen tablets which have eased the aches and pains. I still suffer from low libido and other issues associated with menopause and am in the process of trying to find a GP who may be able to help.
